The stunt was for a famous director's forgettable but enjoyable blockbuster hit, Six Shell Runner. The stunt was a complex one: a freefall jump off a bridge and onto one of 2 speeding 18-wheelers. The trucks would close together while the stuntman tumbled from the roof, to the side, to under one of the speeding trucks. The stuntman would continue to crawl the belly of the truck, climb the sides and make it to the driver's cabin all while the 2 trucks were colliding and speeding. The stuntman would then drive his truck into the other, breaking the guardrail and escaping in mid-air while the trucks fell into a ravine. As one of the trucks was an oil tankard, there was set to be an explosion that both trucks would be caught in, giving the stuntman a strict time limit for the escape.
The inherent danger of the stunt made it hard to find a stunt actor willing to attempt it, which is how Zoro (a relative rookie) got the part. To everyone's surprise he successfully executed the whole thing flawlessly in one take. The only mishap was in the pyrotechnic work which triggered early and caught him in the blast.
While the stunt footage was used in the final film, the footage of what happened to Zoro remains held by the staff. All that's known is that he was found half a day later on the side of the ravine, seemingly climbing his way up while bleeding out. Rumor says when the crew found him he simply turned to them and asked:
"Did you get the take?"
Honestly, no one's really sure how he's alive after that.
